Description
The 35mm SLR did not, as casual observers of the genre might have thought, originally come from Japan. Rather, the precursor of all modern single lens reflex cameras was the Exakta - truly a landmark in the development of 35mm photography, not any less important than Leica. There are many favorable online reviews, so I won't burden this listing with details you can easily find on the 'net. This Exakta, serial #750882, is the VX, Version 2 (from 1954) and it exhibits very nice cosmetics (the often-chipped black enameling is near perfect) and is fully functional: the shutter speeds sound appropriate to the ear, the waist-level finder snaps open smartly, and the self-timer works as it should. Pictures 6 and 7 seem to show the sides of the waist level finder to be dented, but that's a lighting-caused optical illusion - the finder is not damaged in any way. With a body cap and an original Exakta VX instruction sheet. About 4 lbs packed for safe shipment from zip 55073. I ship once a week (assuming payment has been made), on Thursdays. If payment is not made within 5 days of the listing's end, the item will be relisted and eBay notified of a nonpaying buyer. Check my feedback (I've been buying and selling on eBay since 1999) and deal in confidence.
