Description:
These are rugged miniature mercury tilt switches where ball of mercury makes contact between  the metal housing and a center pin when tilted upright. There are no contacts to wear out so they have extended life. The metal housing makes them unbreakable, unlike the glass housing on other switches, so they can be used in rugged applications.
They are are easily mounted three ways:
1. By drilling a 3/16" hole and slipping it in. If the application is under 24vdc and mounting surface is a vehicle body, the metal contact with the housing can form the negative leg of the low voltage circuit so you only have to run a single positive wire to the center terminal to complete the circuit.
2. If mounted in wood, plastic, fiberglass, etc another wire can be spot soldered to the body for the other leg of the circuit.
3. It can be attached to a base or bracket for adjustable tilt mounting.

o attach to the center terminal you can use a slip-on terminal or solder a wire to it.
For hidden, low amperage applications, the switch can be dropped all the way into the hole and covered over.
When used only as a sensor (low current) a thin wire can be used to attach the switch. However if there is any appreciable current, you must use appropriate gauge wire to handle the load.
In any application over 24v the body of the switch must be insulated from human contact because it is part of the circuit.
